The Premonition

"Dreams are the only place where the pragmatic realism of one's mind doesn't work." This is what I used to believe in until that chilly, morose January morning when I woke up covered in sweat and my eyes still bearing the aftermath of what I had witnessed only a few moments ago.
That outrageously macabre dream was so bizarre that even Freud himself must have had doubts about his psychoanalysis theories, had he experienced what I did.
But the world has changed since Freud. Gone are the days when the world was exasperated by his theories on Incest, these days the world pledges to be patient and receiving to every entity who decides to go against the tide.
Be it the iron willed Julian Assange or the brave-hearted Irom Sharmila.
So anyway without beating around the bush anymore, I will straight away narrate my unusual dream to you.

The Dream

It was one of those flying dreams. I was flying and yet without wings defying the hefty pull of gravity. And no, I did not have a broom stick to match harry Potter's.
I was flying over a verdant stretch. I did not know where I was, it seemed a place nicely carved out from the pictures of great forests - and considering the rate at which trees are cut in India to make way for concrete jungles, it could only have been the pictures of the real jungles from which my dream drew its inspiration. So I was flying atop the greenery of lovely forests, snowy mountains and green farms.
Just when I had crossed the dwindling yet ample stretch of healthy vegetation and was about to enter the threshold of civilization, I saw 'it.'
That ethereal yet ubiquitous, down-to-earth (quite literally) yet authoritarian, many layered Onion heading a vegetables only meeting !So I after being in a fix over the tuff between my nervousness and curiosity ,decided to let the latter get the better of the two. I lowered myself on an impoverished tree. I learned that even the vegetables were alarmed by the 'exclusive' category bestowed upon the modest Onion. They were a little aggravated by this partiality shown towards their compatriot.
And the Onion was doing but some damage control by telling them that this price-rise was about to change the way the vegetables will be looked upon in the future. That they will be cherished by the humans residing in the developing countries in near future, just the way they cherish their Gold and Silver. And though this supply-demand labyrinth was the outcome of human (read Human policy-maker's)inexperience, the vegetables are to be benefitted hugely in the long run. The humans who are so conceitedly blindfolded by their complacency would soon be seen as doing the nature's bidding.
And it was over! Much like a movie that gives us enough food for thought, but never the solution. I don't know if the dream was conjured from the realm of my rationale, or was it just a premonition of the happenings in our not so far away future.

Wishful Thinking

I was spellbound after reading a certain post in the Dawn Newspaper. It was about a skinny little moon that formed the backdrop of the childhood memories of the writer. How he missed that innocent little moon of his childhood. The moon when it was still unfazed by the happenings on his dear Earth. After reading it even I started thinking about that moon of my younger years. Just like he was, after seeing that skinny, little moon. Though, that silvery moon of my childhood has taken a refuge in the solitary darkness of the sky. I believe it is scared by what is happening in its world of paradise. The moon could not bear to look down and see the plight of its admirer .It could not bear to see Humanity losing out to Hatred and Atrocity. It could not bear to see that children who instead of playing with dolls and listening to fairytales are playing with weapons of mass destruction. It was morbid to see that Religion which is but a way to worship the Divine, to thank the Almighty has become the most prevalent reason for the mayhem and bloodshed engulfing the world. I sometimes feel that even God/Allah/Almighty despises the human race for its mortal ignorance and is waiting with bated breaths for the Judgment day to come.

The whistleblower

There he lies unwithered
The cold tar his bed
And his blood gushing out through his head

He was walking on his way back home
When he was shot
Two shots silenced that 'indomitable soul'

The mob watched him with their silence
Promptly in place
Mute and unperturbed they saw what they did to him
For they knew that he was a martyr in vain

Soon there will be another corpse like his
Lying defeated on the streets
For he will be a 'cold-blooded' whistleblower

To a terrorist,from a sister

Hi,how are you ?Had always wanted to write to you.Though I know it is going to be a one sided communication.Actually there are a few things that I always wanted to ask you, though I know you have much important things to do than reading my downright stupid and immature letter. You have a cause to fight for.You are aiming for heaven.I know you kill people(mostly people like me)because you have learnt from someone that it will lead you to heaven.Well I am not very religious, don't really believe in "life after death" and stuff. But I know a thing or two about heaven :there all are treated as equals, there is no religion in heaven. So, then how can you go to heaven ?

There is thing about you that always intrigues me.I had always wanted to ask you this question "Did you always want to be a terrorist".Wasn't there a time when you also had emotions, you loved simpler things, did not understand religion.was'nt there a time when you cried? There must have been a time when you must have felt bad when you accidently crushed a tiny ant under your feet. When you loved sleeping in your mother's lap, listening to her lullabies, dreaming of fairies? There must have been a time when you loved poetry.Listened to songs. There must have been a time when you fell for a girl spent your days thinking of her all the time?Wasn't life much more simpler than what it is now ?There must have been a time when you had looked at someone and judged him by the way he looked or walked or talked and hadn't thought about his religion or made plans to kill him.I am sure you have had days like that. And I am sure that those were the days when you worshipped your God with love and respect and not with fear and desperation.Having said all that I believe you would someday take a minute or two out of your busy schedule and see this letter of mine and give it a thought.
Will wait till that day.

Take Care

My first poem

Once upon a time

In a faraway land

Lived a girl

Happy as d isle

Who longed to love

And loved to smile

Then she met him

A boy named Sky

Who,they say, was born to fly

Sparks flew,and then she knew

That she was meant for him

But soon he had to go

to a place where he'd make his dreams come true

And the girl named Isle

Lost her smile

She wrote him letters many a few

And he wrote back

Saying that he missed her too

Time flew,and then they knew

That there is more to it

Than meets the eye

They tried their best to make it work

But alas!It couldn't stand the test of time

And so in the midst of chasing their dreams

They had to wave each other goodbye

This is the story of the boy, who, they say,was born to fly

And the girl, well she was meant to write

And here she sits and wonders how time flies by

And about the boy named Sky

Thank you .:)

It is a wonder how a perfect stranger can become so special to you that you are willing to devote each and every second thinking about him,you are even tricked into spending so many sleepless and sometimes tearful nights coming to terms with the fact that he has become a part of your life without him knowing anything about it.This is what happens when you pour your heart out to a stranger. But even that is not the cause for alarm. It all starts when you give him a part of it and with that you open that door for him which you never knew existed. Well that's love for you.But if you ask me,a feeling as strong and eternal as this ,that makes you a vagabond of sorts should not be constrained by the boundaries of mere alphabets. The feeling is transcendental. So,yes I have fallen in love and the guy I love knows nothing about it.Its not like i have not fallen in love before but this time its different. My love for him has changed many things, has made many walls come down, has freed me from the chains of pain and heartbreak. And most of all,he has made believe that the world is full of love .After my first relationship ended on a bad note I thought that I was incapable of finding love again and dreaded being doomed to live alone for the rest of my life. But Oh! Boy, how easily you made all those nightmares go away. You have made me believe that love exists in me .You have given me the strength to love beyond reason.I dont know if you will ever come to know about it but this is my way of thanking you for being my Messiah.

I love you.
